SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 31

Tomblin, Mr. President, Sharpe and Deem)
Expressing sadness at the passing of the Honorable Theodore M.
Bowers, former member of the West Virginia Senate from the
second senatorial district, businessman and dedicated
public servant.
Whereas, The Honorable Theodore M. Bowers was born
February 1, 1907, in Point Marion, Pennsylvania, the son of
Frank L. and Asia L. (Sadler) Bowers; and
Whereas, The Honorable Theodore M. Bowers received his
education at the University of Pittsburgh; and
Whereas, The Honorable Theodore M. Bowers was married to
his beloved wife Myra Llewlyn, with whom he shared the joy of
having two daughters, Nancy Lou and Betsey Lynn; and
Whereas, The Honorable Theodore M. Bowers, a resident of
New Martinsville, Wetzel County, was first elected to the West
Virginia Senate, representing the second senatorial district in
1942, and served until 1968. While serving as a member of the Senate, he was responsible for a myriad of legislation which
was enacted for the betterment of all West Virginians; and
Whereas, The Honorable Theodore M. Bowers passed away
January 3, 1995, leaving behind a life of dedicated public
service, not only to the West Virginia Senate, but also as a
member of a myriad of civic organizations; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby expresses its sincere sadness at
the passing of the Honorable Theodore M. Bowers, former member
of the West Virginia Senate and dedicated statesman; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby requested to
forward a copy of this resolution to the family of the
Honorable Theodore M. Bowers.
